Minutes of the Sixty-Second Meeting
of the General Council of the
General Society of Colonial Wars
Held at Louisville, Kentucky, on 13 March 1949
The Secretary General presented the application for a charter for a Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Florida which petition was signed by the following gentlemen who were already members of the Colonial Wars Society in the States designated:
Messmore Kendall, Esq. (New York)
James Ranson Branch, Esq. (New York)
James Abercrombie de Peyster, Esq. (New York)
Frederick Lovejoy Durland, Esq. (New York)
William Fuller Lutz, Esq. (Pennsylvania)
Arthur N. Pierson, Jr., Esq. (New York)
Livingston Lyman Short, Esq. (New York)
Theodore Washington Stemmler, Jr., Esq. (New York)
Andrew Noel Trippe, Esq. (Maryland)
Rufus Adrian Van Voast, Esq. (Ohio)
and by the following gentlemen whose lines of descent from qualified ancestors had been submitted to and approved by the Registrar General:
Roscoe T. Anthony, Esq.
Reginald Forrest Bradley, Esq.
James Ranson Branch IV, Esq.
Alfred Peyton Jenkins, Esq.
On motion duly made, seconded, and carried it was:
RESOLVED,
that above-named gentlemen who are not members of the Society of Colonial Wars be and hereby are elected to membership so that they may become charter members of the Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Florida in accordance with Article XXI of the Constitution.
that in accordance with the petition of the above-named gentlemen a charter for the Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Florida be and hereby is granted to them.
On motion duly made, seconded, carried it was:
RESOLVED,
that the sincere thanks of the General Council be and hereby are extended to Messrs. Hoops, Duvall, Richardson, and Kendall for their splendid work.
Mr. Kendall accepted the Florida charter on behalf of that Society.
The Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Florida was incorporated under the Laws of the State of Florida at the County Court House,
Palm Beach County on the 18th day of November, 1949. The subscribers to the Articles of Incorporation were:

Reginald F. Bradley, Esq.
Rev. William Fuller Lutz
Roscoe T. Anthony, Esq.
James A. de Peyster, Esq.
all residents of Palm Beach County, Florida.
